The Shakespeare trail
Following the life and works of William Shakespeare, the greatest English playwright and one of the World’s most influential writers is a lot harder than you’d think.
You’d think that such a popular and important man would be easy to keep track of. Especially considering that, against what is standard, achieved fame for his works in his lifetime, and was acclaimed by his peers and by the ruling class at the time. Of course it took the distance of centuries to realize just how influential he is, but the fact remains that he was worshipped by kings and crowds while he lived.
But the life of this man is shrouded in mystery. We’re not even entirely sure where he was born, although many luxury hotels Warwickshire would disagree with this statement and swear on the fact that he was born in their county. His time of death is more or less set, but his life course still remains a mystery. Some people go as far as to claim that he was merely a nom de plume for other important writers at the time that, because they were known to write serious treaties or because they were nobles, didn’t want to be associated with the theater.
