Summer Fun in the UK
Summer’s here and there’s still time to make something of it. The kids are out of school, you’ve all got time set aside for that big vacation and want to do something unique. How about grabbing some rail passes and showing your family the beauty and hospitality of the UK? From London, throughout the countryside, and on into Edinburgh you can experience diverse landscapes, history that comes alive with the telling, spectacular castles, cathedrals, and more. And one of the best parts is that deals can still be found for the Summer holidays, it just takes a little bit of web time or talking with a travel agent and you’ll be sure to find something that suits the whole family.
Before leaving on holiday be sure that all passports are valid and if any visas are required. It’s also wise to have extra scripts written for any prescription medications, as well as an extra pair of eyeglasses and lenses. Suncream and a hat are always a good idea as well, and don’t forget power converters, if needed, in order to charge your camera batteries and such. Though summers can be warm, climates can also be changeable so the best bet is to prepare for rain and to layer items of clothing so that they can be worn and removed as needed.
Finally, don’t forget to take an inquisitive, open-hearted nature and a willingness to laugh when or if things occasionally go off the beaten track. Remember, some of the most precious and rewarding moments are those unplanned. So have at it and have fun!
